Through the Membership Referral Program, you can help grow the Bruce Trail Conservancy’s membership community and increase our capacity to preserve and maintain the Bruce Trail for future generations.

Many members join when a trusted friend or family member encourages them. Think of how much we could all accomplish together if each member encouraged just one other person to join.

How it works:

Get your referral coupon code: BTC members must sign up for the program to receive their unique referral code. To sign up, log in at brucetrail.org and go to the Membership Referral Program tab found on the dashboard or Your Account.
Refer your friends and family: Share your unique code with friends and family by email or you can request to receive cards by mail with your referral code.
Receive benefits: Whenever someone uses your referral coupon code when they purchase a membership, both you and your referral will receive benefits as a thank you for supporting the Bruce Trail Conservancy.

Free Digital Maps

Joining members who use a referral code will receive a free set of digital maps to help them explore the Bruce Trail.

(Your tax receipt will reflect the membership amount minus the value of maps, as required by CRA. Learn More >)

For You:
New Badges

Free “Membership Ambassador” badges will be awarded to members after they have successfully referred 3, 5 and 10 members. Collect all three badges!

Membership fees directly help to fulfill the Bruce Trail Conservancy’s mission of preserving a ribbon of wilderness for everyone, forever.

New for 2026 – more ways to benefit!

In 2026, we are introducing TWO new ways to celebrate participants of the Membership Referral Program:

Quarterly Draw to win a pair of KEEN footwear.
- For each successful referral, both the referred and referrer will be entered into a draw to win a pair of KEEN footwear.
- Draws will take place at the start of the following months: April 2026, July 2026, October 2026 & December 2027.
- Draw winners will be contacted by email.
Exclusive guided hike with Bruce Trail Conservancy CEO, Michael McDonald.
- Membership Ambassadors with successful referrals and referred members will receive an invite to join Michael McDonald for a guided hike along the Bruce Trail.
- Hike details and invite will be shared at a later date in 2026.

Log into your account at brucetrail.org and navigate to the Membership Referral Program tab. After you have confirmed your membership details, you will automatically be given your unique referral code.

Referral Codes do not expire. The original expiry date of December 31, 2025 is no longer valid and can be disregarded.

You will receive an email every time your referral code is used.

You can refer as many people as you’d like. You and your referred friends/family won’t receive any benefits until they purchase a membership.

Yes, the Bruce Trail Conservancy is a registered charity and we are pleased to offer charitable donation tax receipts for memberships.

Please note: The value of the Full Set of Downloadable Maps ($28) will be subtracted from the membership amount on the member’s tax receipt, to meet requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency. According to Canada Revenue Agency’s de minimum rule, organizations must subtract the fair market value of a gift from the tax receipt total if the fair market value of the gift accounts for more than 10 per cent of an individual’s total donation.
